I receive hundreds of letters and e-mails each week of people sharing their stories of abuse, mistakes and messes in their lives.  As I read them I see such potential – potential for greatness and purpose! When we were filming Kim Of Queens, my dear friend Deb (of 20 years) and her daughter Hannah, who I trained, were going through an unspoken issue.  The secret issue was Hannah’s eating disorder. I remember sitting them both down discussing the “unspoken issue”  and Deb insisted that Hannah was anemic. I could tell the fear they both had in sharing their “mess” with me. To make a long story short, Hannah got help and she is on the road to recovery.  I asked them if they would tell their story on national TV, their MESS of an eating disorder. Deb was freaked out and down-right ticked off with me that I would suggest it. Months went by and season 2 filming started and I asked again. Hannah was ready and all for it. I remember sitting with them and saying, “Hannah this mess of anorexia can be your message and will help countless people by sharing”.  She did share it and it was and is a GREAT message for Hannah. Sharing it changed the trajectory of her life.

What is your MESS? It’s what I like to call  “Jesus take the wheel” moments. The times where things just happen to you.  The supernatural, unexplainable, accident, downright unfair things that happen to you and you can’t explain but yet they can stop you in your tracks.  Or sometimes they are the BIG mistakes that are brought on by our own choices.  These can be the most amazing building moments you will ever have in your life.  These situations can set you on your destiny path. I heard a speaker say once “success often tastes like stress” and in the struggle is where the magic can happen, but it’s a choice. Are you going to have faith and confidence in you or are you going to give the power over to the circumstance? My daddy used to always say “You make choices in life but sometimes choices make you”.  It’s your choice.

We are assured and know that [God being a partner in their labor] all things work together and are [fitting into a plan] for good to and for those who love God and are called according to [His] design and purpose. Romans 8:28Amplified Bible (AMP)
